  • Radial engagement, axial depth, coolant and target finish.

Common questions

Which cutter is best for roughing?

Start with a roughing or high-feed body that matches the machine’s power and insert geometry. Send the stock allowance and material so BOFA can confirm the insert grade and cutting window.

Do I need the insert model as well as the cutter body?

Yes. The insert geometry and grade control chip formation, edge strength and material range. Include the body model and insert code in the RFQ.

Can BOFA match a BT40 or BT50 spindle?

Yes. State the taper, arbor standard, gauge length and cutter interface. BOFA can match the face mill arbor and verify the mounting dimensions before quotation.

Need a face milling recommendation? Send the material, diameter and machine interface.
